The UAE weather forecast points to partly cloudy skies, blowing dust and possible morning fog, while temperatures gradually ease in some areas.

ABU DHABI: The UAE weather forecast is set to bring a mix of cloud cover, dusty winds and humid mornings over the coming days, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.

On Friday, October 2, partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected over eastern and southern areas, with a chance of light rainfall in some locations.

Clouds and light rain possible

Clouds are expected to increase at times over eastern and southern parts of the country, while some areas could receive light rain.

The NCM forecast for Friday also points to light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, with speeds of 10 to 25km/h and gusts reaching 40km/h. Stronger winds could lift dust and reduce visibility in exposed areas.

Temperatures will remain relatively high, with maximums forecast around 40°C in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah and 39°C in Dubai and Ajman. Inland areas could experience even higher readings, with temperatures reaching up to around 44°C in some locations.

Dust could affect visibility

Freshening winds are expected to create blowing dust at times, particularly across open and exposed areas.

Drivers should remain alert where visibility deteriorates, while people sensitive to dusty conditions may want to limit prolonged outdoor exposure during stronger winds.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are forecast to be rough at times during the morning before becoming moderate to slight, while the Oman Sea is expected to remain slight.

Morning fog remains possible

Humidity is also expected to remain an important feature of the UAE weather forecast through the weekend.

Recent NCM outlooks indicate that humid overnight conditions can create a chance of fog or mist over some coastal and internal areas during the early morning, particularly as temperatures begin to ease.

Fog can lead to rapidly changing visibility on highways and other roads, making early-morning travel more difficult. Motorists should follow official weather and traffic alerts when visibility falls.

Temperatures expected to ease gradually

The broader weather pattern indicates a gradual decline in temperatures after recent highs, although daytime conditions will remain warm.

Cloud cover, changing winds and higher overnight humidity are expected to shape conditions as the country moves further into October.

Impact to expect

The UAE weather forecast could bring slower morning journeys where fog develops and temporarily reduced visibility during dusty periods. Residents can also expect more variable skies, while the gradual temperature decline may provide some relief from recent daytime heat.
