A 10-year-old Dubai author has launched Paw-sitively Royal, a children’s book narrated through a dog’s eyes, with her earnings supporting animal shelters in the UAE and India.
DUBAI: A 10-year-old Dubai-based author is combining storytelling with animal welfare through her debut children’s book, Paw-sitively Royal, with her earnings from the book set to support animal causes in the UAE and India.
Written by Aryahi Tiwari and published by Anecdote Publishing House, the book follows Royal, a tiny teacup poodle whose adventures are told entirely from his own point of view. The approach gives young readers a playful look at everyday life through the sights, sounds and curiosity of a dog.
Royal’s story centres on family, friendship, courage and belonging. Along the way, he welcomes a new brother named Rockstar, spends time with his best friend Rocket and learns to face his fears. The story also explores the close relationship between people and their pets.
The charitable element gives the young author’s debut an additional purpose. Aryahi is donating her earnings from the book to animal charities supporting a pet shelter in Dubai and a cow shelter in India. The Dubai contribution is being made through a K9 membership supporting ongoing animal care programmes.
“I wanted my book to do more than make people smile. I wanted it to help animals too,” Aryahi said. “I hope readers enjoy Royal’s adventures and, at the same time, remember how much love and kindness animals deserve.”
Aryahi is a Year 6 student at Nord Anglia International School Dubai. Alongside writing, she participates in mathematics competitions and has a Cambridge coding certification. She is also a certified dog trainer, an interest that closely connects with the subject of her first book.
Her activities extend into sport and the arts. She represents her school in netball, basketball and rounders, has won medals in gymnastics and pursues ballet, art, 3D sculpture, drama, choir and piano.
Paw-sitively Royal is priced at AED 35 and is available through Anecdote Publishing House via MyBooktopia and stores in Dubai.
