BANDUNG: The Muslim Council of Elders is set to host ‘Harmony Camp 2025’ in Bandung, Indonesia, from February 24 to 27, bringing together youth from six different faiths to foster peaceful coexistence and environmental awareness.

Organised in collaboration with Eco Learning Camp-Bandung, the Center for Islamic Studies at the National University of Indonesia, the Gusdurian Network, and Greenfaith Indonesia, the initiative is led by the Southeast Asia Regional Branch of the Muslim Council of Elders, based in Jakarta. Forty young participants, selected from diverse backgrounds, will engage in discussions on interfaith harmony and climate protection, exploring the role of religious values in tackling environmental challenges.

The Council’s mission is to promote tolerance, dialogue, and human fraternity across cultures and religions. ‘Harmony Camp 2025’ aligns with this vision, encouraging youth to actively participate in building inclusive societies.

This initiative follows previous youth engagement programmes by the Council, including the Emerging Peacemakers Forum (London 2018, Geneva 2022), which fosters interfaith and intercultural dialogue among young leaders. The Council has also co-organised the Azadi Youth Fellowship in Pakistan, which trains peace ambassadors, and the Student Fellowship Dialogues for Human Fraternity, in partnership with Georgetown University.

By championing youth-led dialogue and climate-conscious interfaith initiatives, the Muslim Council of Elders continues to pave the way for a more peaceful and sustainable future in Southeast Asia and beyond.
