Guwahati UAE flights will begin in August as Air India Express becomes the first airline to connect Northeast India directly with Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
ABU DHABI: Guwahati UAE flights will begin this August after Air India Express announced the first-ever direct air links between Northeast India and the United Arab Emirates. The new services will connect Guwahati with Dubai from 4 August 2026 and Abu Dhabi from 7 August 2026, expanding international travel options for the region.
The launch marks Air India Express’ first international operations from Guwahati, one of the airline’s largest stations with around 120 weekly flights. The direct routes are expected to strengthen tourism, trade, business links and cultural exchange between Northeast India and the UAE while offering travellers faster and more convenient access to two of the region’s leading commercial hubs.

The Guwahati-Dubai service will operate every Tuesday, departing Guwahati at 12.25pm and arriving in Dubai at 4.10pm local time. The return flight will leave Dubai at 5.10pm and reach Guwahati shortly after midnight. The Guwahati-Abu Dhabi service will operate every Friday, departing Guwahati at 11.30am and arriving in Abu Dhabi at 3.15pm, with the return flight leaving at 4.15pm and landing in Guwahati at 11.30pm.
Bookings for both routes are now available through the airline’s website, mobile application and authorised travel partners.
With the addition of the new UAE services, Air India Express now operates more than 290 weekly flights from Northeast India across Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Dimapur and Imphal. The airline also continues to celebrate the region’s cultural heritage through its ‘Tales of India’ initiative, featuring traditional art forms from several northeastern states on its aircraft tail designs.
The introduction of Guwahati UAE flights further strengthens connectivity between the two regions and supports growing travel demand. As passenger traffic continues to increase, Guwahati UAE flights are expected to provide new opportunities for business, tourism and family travel.
