DUBAI: In a significant move connecting AI innovation with regional tech infrastructure, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence venture, xAI, has announced that its conversational Grok chatbot will be rolled out via Telegram, the globally popular messaging app with operational ties to Dubai. The decision places the UAE on the map as a strategic partner in the evolution of AI-integrated communication.
Telegram, known for its privacy features and large global user base, is expected to serve as the initial launch platform for Grok. The chatbot, powered by xAI’s proprietary models, will offer real-time, natural language interaction, rivalling established AI chat tools in speed and responsiveness.
Industry experts view this partnership as a convergence of emerging tech ecosystems from the Middle East and Silicon Valley. It highlights Dubai’s rising status as a digital innovation hub, offering infrastructure and regulatory support to pioneering tech platforms.
The launch aligns with Musk’s vision of decentralised AI access and is seen as a strategic step in expanding Grok’s global reach. The service is expected to roll out in phases, with new features including voice-based queries and secure API integration to be introduced by year-end.
