LOS ANGELES: Former WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor Batista has spoken candidly about his noticeable weight loss, following a viral wave of fan reactions to his recent transformation ahead of the release of his latest film, The Killer’s Game.
Known during his wrestling days as “The Animal,” Dave Bautista, now 55, was famed for his muscular 290-pound physique and fearsome presence in the ring. Over the course of his WWE career, he captured two WWE Championships, four World Heavyweight titles, and three World Tag Team Championships.
Now sporting a much leaner frame, Batista recently shared that he hasn’t weighed this little in over 30 years. The dramatic change in appearance was first noticed when new images surfaced from his film promotions, surprising long-time fans accustomed to his wrestling-era build.
“I’ve always stayed fit, but the kind of shape I need for film is very different from what I needed in the ring,” said Batista in a recent interview. He added that his current fitness routine is focused more on agility and endurance rather than maintaining bulk.
Since retiring from wrestling after his final appearance at WrestleMania in 2019, Batista has become a staple in blockbuster cinema, with prominent roles in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and Dune.
Despite the transformation, the star remains dedicated to health and performance. “My priorities have shifted. I still train hard, but now it’s more about longevity and feeling good in my body,” he said.
Fans continue to celebrate Batista’s evolving career, with many admiring his ability to reinvent himself while staying committed to fitness and authenticity.
