UAE medicine stockpile remains secure and sufficient, officials say, ensuring stable pharmaceutical supply for citizens, residents and visitors.
DUBAI: UAE health authorities confirmed that the country’s UAE medicine stockpile remains secure and sufficient, ensuring the continued availability of essential medicines and medical supplies nationwide.
Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Drug Establishment, said the pharmaceutical sector in the UAE is operating with high stability and preparedness.
He emphasised that the UAE medicine stockpile has been carefully maintained through national policies designed to ensure adequate reserves of essential medicines for citizens, residents and visitors over extended periods.
According to Al Hajeri, strengthening pharmaceutical security remains a key national priority supported by a comprehensive strategy aimed at guaranteeing sustainable availability, safety and quality of medicines under all circumstances.
The Emirates Drug Establishment has adopted proactive planning measures including risk assessments and emergency preparedness programmes to strengthen resilience in the pharmaceutical system.
Dr Fatima Al Kaabi, Director-General of the Emirates Drug Establishment, said the sector continues to maintain strong operational readiness and stable supply levels.
She explained that authorities conduct daily monitoring of medicine movement and stock levels across factories, warehouses and storage facilities. Integrated tracking systems are used in cooperation with strategic partners to ensure efficient supply chain management.
These systems help guarantee the uninterrupted availability of essential medicines and prevent shortages of key pharmaceutical products.
Officials said current indicators for the UAE medicine stockpile remain stable and reassuring. The strong position reflects forward planning and cooperation between the Emirates Drug Establishment, the Ministry of Health and Prevention, regulatory authorities and private sector partners.
Dr Al Kaabi added that pharmaceutical security represents a fundamental pillar of the UAE’s healthcare system. Authorities continue to adopt forward-looking strategies to ensure long-term medicine availability and maintain readiness across the national health sector.
