UAE schools and universities will observe spring break from March 9 to March 22, with classes resuming on March 23.
ABU DHABI: UAE schools and universities will observe spring break from March 9 to March 22, following an announcement by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The decision applies to students as well as academic and administrative staff across public and private schools and higher education institutions nationwide. The ministries confirmed that the schedule was approved by the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council.
According to the official announcement, spring break will begin on Monday, March 9, and continue until Sunday, March 22, 2026. Educational institutions will pause classes and regular academic activities during this period.
Authorities said the break forms part of the academic calendar designed to provide students and educators with a scheduled pause during the school year. The period allows students time to rest and recharge before continuing with the remaining academic term.
Officials added that institutions are expected to follow the approved academic calendar and ensure preparations are in place for the resumption of classes after the break.
Classes and official working hours will resume on Monday, March 23, 2026, across all schools and universities in the country.
The ministries encouraged students and families to use the break responsibly and remain updated through official announcements issued by educational institutions.
As UAE schools and universities prepare for spring break from March 9, authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining a structured academic calendar that supports both learning continuity and student wellbeing.
