Dubai International Airport set to exceed 90 million passengers in 2024: Sheikh Ahmed

Dubai: Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, serving as President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, anticipates that Dubai International Airport will surpass 90 million passengers by the year’s end.

Addressing media at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai World Trade Centre, he noted Dubai International Airport welcomed approximately 87 million passengers last year.

Sheikh Ahmed emphasized the necessity for a larger airport to accommodate the escalating air traffic, underscoring the critical role of Al Maktoum International Airport in meeting the surging demands of Dubai’s aviation sector for the next four decades. He emphasized its significance in supporting Dubai’s economic agenda, known as “D33,” comprising 100 transformative projects aimed at doubling Dubai’s economy in the next decade and solidifying its position among the top three global cities.
