Abu Dhabi inmate video calls will be available during Ramadan, enabling families to connect through the Nafidhaty smart application.

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi inmate video calls will be available throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan under a new schedule approved by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. The initiative aims to strengthen family connections and support rehabilitation efforts across correctional and rehabilitation centres.

Under the approved mechanism, Abu Dhabi inmate video calls will begin from the first day of Ramadan and operate Monday to Thursday between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Fridays have been designated for communication involving embassies and legal representatives from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, subject to regulatory approvals and electronic requests.

The calls will be conducted via the Nafidhaty smart application, allowing inmates to maintain structured and secure communication with relatives. Authorities stated that maintaining family bonds contributes to psychological stability and plays a vital role in successful social reintegration.

Families seeking Abu Dhabi inmate video calls must submit requests electronically through the Abu Dhabi Government Services platform TAMM or via Abu Dhabi Police under the Inmate Visit service. Applicants will receive SMS notifications confirming the scheduled time and location for the video session.

Officials emphasised that the system ensures efficient service delivery while maintaining regulatory compliance. The structured framework for Abu Dhabi inmate video calls reflects the emirate’s broader commitment to humane correctional practices and community reintegration during Ramadan.
