Florida: On Tuesday, the sun unleashed its largest flare in almost two decades, following recent intense solar storms that painted unusual northern lights, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) stated, “Not done yet!” suggesting further activity.

This flare marks the peak of the current 11-year solar cycle, according to NOAA. Fortunately, Earth seems to be safe this time as the flare occurred on the sun’s far side, away from our planet.
NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the intense X-ray flare, which ranked as an X8.7 on the flare scale, the strongest since 2005.
