Aster expands Saudi healthcare network through the acquisition of ProCare Hospital in the Eastern Province, increasing its presence to more than 500 beds across the Kingdom.
RIYADH: Aster DM Healthcare has strengthened its presence in Saudi Arabia with the acquisition of a majority stake in ProCare Hospital in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province. The move, completed through a joint venture with Abdulrahman Saleh Al Rajhi and Partners Co. Group, marks Aster’s entry into a new region and supports the healthcare objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The facility will now operate as Aster ProCare Hospital and become part of Aster’s growing GCC healthcare network. Founded in 2009, ProCare Hospital currently provides a wide range of primary and secondary healthcare services and serves communities across the Eastern Province.
As part of the expansion plan, Aster expands Saudi healthcare network by increasing the hospital’s licensed bed capacity from 100 to 209 beds. The development will include 60 critical care beds, seven operating theatres, enhanced emergency services, and the introduction of new specialised medical services.
The hospital will also benefit from advanced healthcare technologies, including a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory developed in partnership with Philips. The facility will feature AI-enabled systems designed to strengthen cardiac and neurological care while improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, said the acquisition reflects the organisation’s long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia and its healthcare transformation journey. He noted that Aster aims to improve access to high-quality, patient-centred services while contributing to the Kingdom’s evolving healthcare ecosystem.
The integration will also bring Aster’s clinical governance standards and digital healthcare solutions, including the myAster platform, to support seamless access to care and better patient experiences.
Aster expands Saudi healthcare network at a time when the Kingdom continues investing heavily in healthcare infrastructure. With this acquisition, Aster’s total capacity in Saudi Arabia now exceeds 500 beds, reinforcing its strategy of delivering accessible, technology-driven healthcare services while supporting national development goals under Vision 2030.
