DUBAI: UAE students will continue learning from home for at least another two weeks, authorities confirmed in an early morning statement on Tuesday, as the country navigates an extended period of drone and missile threats from Iran.
Schools across the UAE have begun communicating the updated schedule directly to parents and guardians, with GEMS Education among the first to share a detailed breakdown of the transition timeline.
Here is what parents need to know:
International curriculum schools, regardless of regulator, will move to online learning from Monday, March 23, 2026. Indian curriculum schools, including CBSE, ICSE, and ISC, will follow a slightly different timeline. SPEA and ADEK schools will transition to online learning from Monday, March 30, running through to Monday, April 6. KHDA schools in Dubai will begin their new academic year on Monday, April 6. All schools, where applicable, will return to full in-person learning from Monday, April 6, in line with guidance from education and regulatory authorities.
Students will follow their regular timetables online, with attendance, engagement, and academic assessments continuing as normal throughout the remote period. School teams will share detailed schedules and platform access instructions directly with families.
For parents, the staggered timeline across curricula and emirates may require some additional planning, but schools have stressed that their teams remain fully available to support families throughout the transition.
Schools confirmed it is fully prepared for the shift, with established digital platforms, experienced teachers, and structured schedules already in place to ensure seamless continuity of learning.
