The LEGO FIFA World Cup trophy has arrived in New York, standing 27 feet tall and built from 1.36 million bricks. The giant display celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026 and is already becoming a favourite photo spot for football fans.
NEW YORK: If you thought LEGO was only for building toy castles, think again. LEGO has teamed up with FIFA to create a massive LEGO FIFA World Cup trophy that’s impossible to miss in New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza.
Standing an incredible 27 feet tall, the colourful masterpiece is made from 1.36 million LEGO bricks and weighs around 7.7 tonnes. According to LEGO, it’s the biggest mobile LEGO build the company has ever created.
The giant trophy took 7,040 hours to complete, with a team of 59 designers, engineers and builders working together at LEGO’s factory in the Czech Republic. Once finished, it was transported all the way to New York for football fans to enjoy during the FIFA World Cup.
Brazilian football legend Cafu joined LEGO designer Christophe Vietti to officially unveil the impressive structure, which will stay on display until July 19.
The giant model also marks the opening of the LEGO Fan Zone, where visitors can celebrate football, snap photos and enjoy interactive experiences alongside the tournament.
The fun doesn’t stop there. LEGO has also launched a 2,842-piece FIFA World Cup Trophy collector’s set for fans who want to build their own version at home. Hidden inside is an exclusive FIFA World Cup 2026 minifigure holding a tiny trophy.
Football fans can also collect LEGO minifigures inspired by stars including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr.
Whether you’re a football fan, a LEGO collector or simply looking for an unforgettable selfie, this giant brick-built trophy proves that sometimes the biggest winners aren’t only found on the football pitch.
