Dubai JVC introduces paid parking: What residents will pay from October 15

Dubai JVC paid parking will begin in District 16 on October 15, with hourly rates reaching AED6 and annual resident memberships costing AED4,999.

DUBAI: Dubai JVC paid parking is expanding to District 16 from October 15, bringing new hourly charges and resident membership options to motorists using designated on-street spaces in the popular residential community.

The new system applies to Jumeirah Village Circle District 16, identified as Parkonic zone P117. Drivers will pay for parking seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays.

How much will JVC parking cost?

Parking will cost AED4 per hour, or part thereof, from 8am until 5pm.

The rate increases to AED6 per hour from 5pm until midnight.

Parking will then be free between midnight and 8am.

This means a driver parking for several hours during the evening could face a significantly higher bill than during daytime hours. The charges apply every day, including public holidays.

How much will residents pay?

Residents who regularly use on-street spaces can choose a parking membership rather than paying the visitor rate each time.

Parkonic lists four membership options: AED672 for one month, AED1,999 for three months, AED3,999 for six months and AED4,999 for one year. Memberships can be purchased through the PARKONIC+ app.

Each eligible property can receive up to two resident parking allocations.

Residents can register multiple vehicles to the same property, but only two registered vehicles can use the resident parking entitlement simultaneously. If both allocations are being used, another registered vehicle parking in the designated area will be charged the standard rate.

What do JVC residents need to do?

Residents need to register their vehicle and activate their parking eligibility before using the benefit.

The registration deadline for District 16 is October 13, 2026, two days before Dubai JVC paid parking goes live.

Applicants must provide supporting documents including a title deed, Ejari and lease agreement. Parkonic will verify the documents before approval, meaning activation is not immediate.

The resident entitlement remains valid only for the approved tenancy period.

How can drivers pay?

The system will be ticketless, with each vehicle’s number plate serving as its digital parking record.

Drivers can start a parking session by SMS using instructions displayed on local signs. If an SMS session is not started, the applicable charge can automatically be deducted from the vehicle’s Salik account upon exit.

Cash, physical parking machines and QR-code payments will not be available for this zone.

Vehicles without a Salik account, or with insufficient Salik balance, will need to use SMS parking. Failure to pay could result in enforcement action.

Residents should also note that the October 15 rollout applies specifically to District 16 rather than every street across JVC.
