The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has declared 1–2 December 2025 as paid holiday for the UAE private sector for Eid Al Etihad.
ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that Monday and Tuesday, 1 and 2 December 2025, will be an official paid holiday for all private sector employees across the UAE. The announcement comes in celebration of the 54th Eid Al Etihad, marking the UAE’s National Day.
The decision was made in accordance with the UAE Cabinet’s unified holiday calendar, which outlines the list of public holidays for both government and private sector workers.
In an official statement, MoHRE extended its warmest congratulations to the UAE’s leadership, citizens, and residents, wishing continued progress, prosperity and unity across the nation.
Eid Al Etihad, also known as UAE National Day, is a key annual celebration commemorating the historic unification of the Emirates in 1971. The 54th edition marks another milestone in the country’s journey of transformation and development.
The two-day holiday offers residents a long weekend to enjoy city-wide celebrations, fireworks, and national festivities, with many destinations across the UAE expected to host cultural events, concerts, and special retail promotions.
Private companies are encouraged to honour the official public holiday and ensure that all employees are granted the designated time off in accordance with labour laws.
This announcement aligns with the UAE’s ongoing commitment to work-life balance and the harmonisation of public holidays across all sectors, fostering unity and shared national spirit.
