The Dubai Gold District campaign has awarded a Gold Mercedes-Benz S-Class 500 to a long-time saver, marking a life-changing win.

DUBAI: The Dubai Gold District campaign has transformed the life of a resident originally from a small fishing village in Sri Lanka, who won a Gold Mercedes-Benz S-Class 500 after investing his long-term savings in gold purchases.

The shopper, who described the moment as extraordinary, said owning a luxury vehicle was beyond anything he had imagined. He had spent years saving carefully before deciding to purchase gold from participating retailers, unaware that his transaction would also enter him into a raffle draw. Reflecting on the win, he shared his favourite quote: “Keep going. Everything you need will come to you at the right time.”

The Dubai Gold District campaign ran from 11 December to 8 February, offering shoppers one raffle entry for every AED 500 spent at participating gold, jewellery and watch stores across the district. The initiative aimed to reward loyal customers while reinforcing the destination’s reputation as a trusted hub for gold investment.

Home to more than 1,000 retailers across gold, jewellery, perfumery, cosmetics and lifestyle categories, the district continues to attract strong international interest. In 2025 alone, it welcomed shoppers from more than 147 nationalities, highlighting its global appeal.
