Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed visited Dubai Customs and called for enhanced smart systems to reinforce Dubai’s status as a global trade hub.

DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, visited Dubai Customs headquarters, underscoring the critical role the authority plays in protecting the economy and strengthening Dubai’s global competitiveness as a leading trade hub.

Joined by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, Sheikh Hamdan directed the authority to continue innovating and adopting advanced technologies to build a smarter customs system aligned with global trade developments. He said that smarter, more integrated customs solutions are essential for seamless trade, resilient supply chains, and investor confidence.

Dubai Customs was lauded for safeguarding ports, facilitating billions in trade, and enhancing Dubai’s economic agenda through speed, efficiency, and innovation. Sheikh Hamdan reviewed operational workflows, AI-powered inspection and clearance systems, and upcoming digital platforms like ‘Al-Munasiq 2.0’, which classifies goods in two seconds and has already seen adoption in 117 countries.

He also reviewed the authority’s 2026–2030 strategy and 2030 AI roadmap, emphasising investment in human capital and technology to future-proof customs operations.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the skilled Emirati workforce and confirmed that Dubai Customs’ performance will continue to serve as a benchmark for global best practices in customs services.
