Dubai Airports is preparing to welcome thousands of Hajj pilgrims with dedicated services, health support and streamlined travel arrangements across terminals.
DUBAI: Dubai Airports has activated an extensive operational plan to support thousands of Hajj travellers departing through its terminals during this year’s pilgrimage season. Officials confirmed that more than 3,600 pilgrims are expected to travel through Dubai Airports, representing nearly 59 per cent of all UAE pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
Hajj departure flights will continue operating until May 23 through airlines including Emirates, Saudia, flydubai and flynas. The Official Dubai Government Delegation is also scheduled to depart on May 21 as preparations intensify across airport facilities.
According to Dubai Airports, the Hajj travel operations plan was developed in coordination with several government and aviation partners including Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai Customs, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Dubai Duty Free and the Dubai Health Authority. Authorities said the coordinated approach is designed to ensure safe, organised and efficient passenger movement during one of the busiest religious travel periods of the year.
To improve passenger comfort, Dubai Airports has introduced dedicated check-in counters, multilingual guest ambassadors, prayer rooms and Ihram changing facilities across terminals. Pilgrims will also receive complimentary gift packs and access to support desks throughout their airport journey. Elderly travellers and passengers requiring additional assistance will benefit from expanded wheelchair services, on-site health support and specialised ground teams.
Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services has strengthened its medical presence at terminals to provide proactive healthcare support and rapid response services if needed. Officials advised pilgrims to arrive at least four hours before departure and ensure they carry all required travel documents, including Hajj permits and vaccination certificates.
Returning pilgrims are expected between May 30 and June 2, with Dubai Airports preparing dedicated arrival procedures including separate baggage belts for Zamzam water. The annual Hajj operations continue to highlight Dubai Airports’ role as a major regional gateway for religious travel and international passenger movement.
