DUBAI: Dubai is set to welcome 17,080 new affordable homes as part of its latest initiative to enhance housing accessibility. Approved by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the project is a key component of Dubai’s Affordable Housing Policy, aligning with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

Covering 1.46 million square metres, the initiative will see the development of residential units across six locations, including Al Mueisim 1, Al Twar 1, Al Qusais Industrial 5, and Al Leyan 1. These homes will cater to skilled professionals, fostering inclusive communities while supporting economic growth. The project will be executed by the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning, Dubai Land Department, Dubai Municipality, and other government entities.

Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed that Dubai’s vision is built on empowering individuals and communities by providing access to opportunities, nurturing talent, and promoting national values. “Dubai is a city for everyone, and we remain committed to offering diverse housing options that enhance quality of life,” he said.

In addition to housing, Sheikh Hamdan approved a new education policy aimed at strengthening Arabic language and Islamic studies in private schools. This move supports the Dubai Education Strategy 2033, with a focus on modernising teaching methods and equipping students with a strong cultural foundation. The policy will be overseen by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and will introduce new curriculum enhancement protocols, teacher training programmes, and stronger school-parent collaboration.

Further empowering professionals, Dubai has launched the Independent Legal Consultant Project, allowing Emiratis to practise legal consultancy independently without requiring a physical office. The pilot phase will focus on real estate and personal status law, enabling qualified citizens to offer legal counsel remotely.

With these strategic initiatives, Dubai continues its journey towards becoming a global leader in housing, education, and professional empowerment.
