Abdulla Al Hamed tours Dubai Media City: ‘We are determined to propel UAE to the forefront of global media industry’

Dubai: Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, serving as the Chairman of both the National Media Office (NMO) and the UAE Media Council, underscored the UAE’s remarkable achievements under visionary leadership. He emphasized that the UAE has established advanced infrastructure and fostered a supportive legal framework, culminating in the creation of a dynamic hub for major global media platforms, startups, and content creation. This progress has significantly attracted international investment, solidifying the UAE’s position as a magnet for international media and a strategic launchpad for startups.

Highlighting the collaborative efforts of the UAE Media Council with local media organizations and free zones, Sheikh Abdulla elaborated on the formulation of adaptable policies aligned with global media trends. These policies aim to empower media companies and creatives, facilitating the expansion of the UAE’s media landscape and the production of high-caliber media content that enhances the nation’s reputation on the international media stage.

“The UAE’s media sector is experiencing a growth surge, and we’re leading the charge by crafting forward-thinking plans to propel its development,” he stated.

During his visit to Dubai Media City, Sheikh Abdulla, accompanied by key officials such as Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Malek Al Malek, Maitha Majed Al Suwaidi, Abdulla Belhoul, and Majed Al Suwaidi, witnessed the burgeoning media startup scene at in5, an enabling platform for entrepreneurs. He commended the pivotal role of startups in boosting the national economy, fostering innovation, and exporting creative products globally.

Furthermore, Sheikh Abdulla reviewed TECOM Group’s significant contributions to nurturing Dubai’s knowledge economy. By focusing on key sectors such as information technology, media, science, education, design, and industry, TECOM Group has played a vital role in positioning Dubai as a global business and talent hub.

Dubai Media City serves as a cornerstone of Dubai’s ambitious media and content creation strategy. As the largest media hub in the region, it accommodates over 2,500 media entities, fostering a vibrant community of more than 20,000 employees and entrepreneurs. Through its comprehensive ecosystem and strategic initiatives, Dubai Media City continues to drive innovation, creativity, and economic growth in the UAE and beyond.
