UAE enforces tough telemarketing laws; fines up to Dh150,000

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Economy and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in the UAE have introduced new laws governing phone marketing also known as telemarketing. These rules cover licensed companies, including those in free zones, engaging in marketing through phone calls, texts, or social media.

The Ministry of Economy will oversee these rules with TDRA and other relevant authorities. Companies must get approval from the proper authority to do telemarketing, and individuals can’t make marketing calls using their own phone numbers without permission.

These telemarketing laws in UAE aim to regulate telemarketing to keep the economy stable and protect consumers’ privacy and comfort. Companies must follow strict guidelines, like not pressuring customers, being transparent, and limiting call times.
