RABAT: The UAE is set to participate in the 18th Tan-Tan Cultural Moussem in Morocco, taking place from 14 to 18 May 2025. Held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this year’s festival theme is Tan-Tan Moussem: A Living Testament to the Universality of Nomadic Culture.

The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, in collaboration with the UAE Camel Racing Federation, will lead the Emirati presence at the festival. The UAE pavilion will offer visitors a rich tapestry of Emirati heritage, including camel races, folk art performances, traditional handicrafts, Emirati cuisine, and photo exhibitions.

Visitors can also enjoy traditional games, poetry evenings, and concerts by UAE musicians. The UAE aims to use this platform to deepen cultural ties with Morocco while highlighting the nation’s enduring Bedouin roots. These efforts are in line with Abu Dhabi’s mission to preserve and promote national heritage for future generations.

This event represents more than just cultural display—it strengthens bilateral ties between the UAE and Morocco by emphasising shared traditions and values. The UAE’s participation reflects a mutual commitment to cultural cooperation and heritage preservation in the region.

The Tan-Tan Moussem, recognised by UNESCO since 2008 as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, brings together communities to celebrate nomadic life. The UAE first joined the festival in 2014 as guest of honour, and its return reinforces its dedication to regional cultural dialogue.

This year’s participation highlights the depth and diversity of Emirati customs, from its musical artistry to its desert-rooted traditions, ensuring the country’s cultural footprint remains vibrant on the global stage.
