JEDDAH: India has officially signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia for Hajj 2025, securing a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims. The agreement was signed by Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, and Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, in Jeddah.

Minister Rijiju took to social media platform X, stating, “Hajj Agreement 2025 signed with Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister for Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Finalised a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims from India for Hajj 2025. We are committed to providing the best possible services to all our Hajj pilgrims.”

This agreement comes after a series of discussions between the two nations, ensuring a smooth and well-organised process for Indian pilgrims heading to the holy city of Mecca for the annual pilgrimage. The 2025 Hajj will be the first with this increased quota, marking a significant step in strengthening Indo-Saudi relations and enhancing the pilgrimage experience for Indian Muslims.

The Indian government’s focus remains on providing top-notch services and ensuring a hassle-free journey for the pilgrims. This includes streamlining the visa and accommodation processes, offering health and logistical support, and enhancing the overall experience for Hajj-bound individuals.

This agreement marks another milestone in India’s continuous efforts to facilitate the Hajj pilgrimage and strengthen its ties with Saudi Arabia.
