Emirates travel flexibility now includes unlimited free date changes on Dubai flights, lower refund fees, comprehensive travel cover and additional Skywards benefits.
DUBAI: Emirates travel flexibility is getting a significant upgrade, with the Dubai-based airline introducing measures designed to give passengers greater confidence when booking and changing their journeys.
From unlimited date changes for Dubai-bound passengers to reduced refund fees and comprehensive travel insurance, here are five changes customers should know about.

1. Unlimited free date changes for Dubai flights
From August 10, 2026, passengers travelling to Dubai can change their travel dates as many times as necessary without paying a change fee across eligible fare types.
The benefit covers Economy Saver through Flex fares and Business Class Special, Saver and Flex fares. Economy Flex Plus, Premium Economy, Business Flex Plus and First Class fares remain fully flexible.
2. Lower refund fees
Passengers who decide not to travel can also benefit from reduced refund charges.
For Dubai-bound Economy tickets, refund fees have been reduced to US$50 for Saver fares and US$25 for Flex fares. Business Class passengers will pay US$50 for Special and Saver fares and US$25 for Flex fares.
Combined with Emirates travel flexibility on date changes, the measure gives travellers more options when plans unexpectedly change.

3. One free date change across the network
The flexibility extends beyond Dubai. Customers travelling anywhere across the Emirates network receive one free date change on tickets booked from April 2, 2026, including journeys connecting through Dubai.
Travellers can also hold a fare for 24 hours without charge while finalising their plans.
4. Comprehensive travel cover
Emirates is also offering Comprehensive Travel Cover across 27 countries. The insurance includes conflict-related cover with reimbursement of medical expenses of up to US$25,000 and a free trip extension of up to 30 days.
Other benefits include cover for trip cancellation, baggage delay or loss, unlimited worldwide medical expenses and emergency evacuation.
When eligible Emirates flights are disrupted, the airline says it will provide accommodation for impacted customers. Where onward connections are affected or Emirates services are unavailable, customers can also be rebooked to their destination at no additional cost.

5. Extra benefits for Skywards members
Emirates Skywards members have additional incentives available until August 31, 2026. These include 20 per cent fewer Tier Miles needed to reach Silver, Gold and Platinum status and 20 per cent bonus Tier Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights.
Members can also receive an enhanced Cash+Miles rate of 2,000 Miles for US$30, compared with the usual US$15 value, for eligible purchases.
