Emirates Crypto.com Pay is now live, allowing eligible UAE customers to book flights using cryptocurrency through the airline’s website and mobile app.
DUBAI: Emirates has officially added cryptocurrency as a payment option for flight bookings, giving eligible UAE customers a new way to pay for tickets through Emirates Crypto.com Pay. The service is now available on both emirates.com and the Emirates mobile app, marking another step in Dubai’s push towards a cashless and digitally driven economy.
The launch follows the airline’s partnership with Crypto.com, first announced in July 2025, to integrate Crypto.com Pay into Emirates’ payment systems. After months of development and regulatory approvals, the service is now live for bookings priced and settled in UAE dirhams.

Using the new payment option is straightforward. When booking a flight, customers can simply select Crypto.com Pay at checkout.
If you’re using the Emirates app, you’ll be redirected to the Crypto.com app to approve the payment before being taken back to Emirates to receive your booking confirmation and e-ticket.
On a desktop or laptop, you’ll see a QR code at checkout. Scan it using the Crypto.com app, approve the payment and your ticket will be issued immediately after the transaction is completed.
At the moment, the feature is available only to eligible Crypto.com users in the UAE and only for bookings made in UAE dirhams. Payments are processed through Crypto.com’s UAE entity, which became the first Virtual Asset Service Provider in the country to receive a Stored Value Facilities licence from the Central Bank of the UAE.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the launch reflects the airline’s commitment to giving customers more flexibility while keeping pace with changing payment preferences. He added that digital payment solutions are becoming increasingly important as more travellers look for convenient and secure ways to pay.
The move also supports Dubai’s Cashless Strategy under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims for 90 per cent of financial transactions across the public and private sectors to be digital by the end of 2026. Emirates’ latest payment option comes as the UAE continues to position itself as a global hub for fintech, digital assets and financial innovation.
For travellers who already use cryptocurrency, Emirates Crypto.com Pay offers another flexible payment choice without changing the usual booking process. As digital payments continue to evolve, Emirates is among the first major global airlines to make crypto payments part of its mainstream customer experience.
