Air India Express resumes Muscat flights from 3 March, becoming the first Indian carrier to operate in the Gulf under current conditions.

MUSCAT: Air India Express resumes Muscat flights starting 3 March, restoring scheduled services between Oman and six major Indian cities. The airline confirmed it will operate flights to Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Mumbai and Tiruchirappally.

The first departure from Muscat is scheduled to Tiruchirappally at 10:25 local time. According to an Airlines spokesperson, the carrier becomes the first Indian airline to operate to and from the Gulf region in the current scenario.

“Air India Express will resume flight operations to and from Muscat starting tomorrow, March 3, with scheduled services to Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Mumbai and Tiruchirappally,” the spokesperson said. The airline described the move as a phased restoration of connectivity while several other regional routes remain temporarily suspended.

Passengers have been advised to check the latest status of their flights on the airline’s official website and ensure contact details are updated to receive real time notifications. Guests can manage bookings, including change and cancellation fee waivers, through the airline’s online portal. Travellers may also connect with Tia, the airline’s 24 hour AI powered digital assistant, via the website or WhatsApp support channel.

While Air India Express resumes Muscat flights, services to Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE remain suspended until 23:59 hrs IST on 3 March 2026. The airline said it regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates passengers’ understanding.

As carrier resumes Muscat flights, officials indicated that further operational updates will depend on evolving regional conditions and regulatory approvals.
