Dubai Culture unveils winter camps across museums and libraries, offering heritage-based creativity workshops for children aged 4 to 14.
DUBAI: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has launched an engaging winter programme for children, running throughout December 2025 at cultural and heritage sites across the city. Designed for children aged 4 to 14, the initiative features interactive and educational activities that explore Emirati traditions, creativity, and sustainability.
The Al Shindagha Museum Winter Camp will run in two sessions from 15 to 19 December and 22 to 26 December. Under the theme Nature Adventurers, it focuses on the UAE’s agricultural heritage through outdoor challenges such as treasure hunts, parkour, and a “Farm Escape Room”. Children will also meet a local beekeeper, explore native plants, and prepare Batheetha, a traditional Emirati dessert.
At Etihad Museum, the same dates apply for a programme that explores the UAE’s founding story through collaborative workshops. Activities include collage-making, ceramics, learning about falcons, and discovering the UAE’s Mars mission and satellite technologies. The camp aims to build communication, teamwork, and leadership skills in young participants.
Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children hosts its Wonders of the Universe camp from 8 to 12 and 15 to 19 December. Children will explore fine arts, pottery, digital creativity, culinary arts, and more. The programme includes unique sessions like glow candle-making and star telescope art. A highlight will be an educational field trip to Roboland, followed by an exhibition and theatre performance showcasing the children’s creations.
Running from 15 to 26 December, the Dubai Public Libraries Winter Camp under the theme Winter of Challenge & Creativity will take place across several locations including Al Safa Art & Design Library and Al Twar Library. Workshops include acrylic and 3D painting, pottery, sand art, and shadow theatre. Children will also participate in team games and learn traditional Emirati crafts like Sqa’a and Tawi, enriching their cultural understanding.
In parallel, Dubai Culture will host a Second-Hand Book Fair at Al Safa Art & Design Library from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. Offering books priced from AED 3 to AED 10, the fair promotes community sharing, literacy, and sustainability.
