Disney is bringing Ice Age, Percy Jackson, Will Trent and several Disney and Pixar titles to Netflix under a new licensing agreement beginning October 4.

LOS ANGELES: Disney has agreed to license a major slate of films and television series to Netflix, including all five Ice Age movies, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Will Trent and several Disney and Pixar titles, marking another significant shift in the streaming industry.

Ice Age heads to Netflix globally

All five existing Ice Age films will begin streaming globally on Netflix from October 4, 2026, for a three-month licensing window. The move comes ahead of the theatrical release of Ice Age: Boiling Point in early 2027.

The collection includes Ice Age, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Ice Age: Continental Drift and Ice Age: Collision Course.

Disney is also bringing the first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians to Netflix globally from October 4 for three months, ahead of the third season’s planned Disney+ premiere on November 20.

More Disney and Pixar titles included

The agreement extends beyond the two franchises. Disney and Pixar films including Soul, Elio and Raya and the Last Dragon are expected to arrive on Netflix from early 2027, although availability and launch dates may differ between markets.

Television titles covered by the deal include Will Trent, Shifting Gears, Tracker, Felicity, Revenge, Army Wives, Fresh Off the Boat and This Is Us, with individual release schedules and regional availability.

The arrangement does not mean Disney is abandoning Disney+. Disney says its core branded content will largely remain on its own streaming platforms, while selected titles are being licensed temporarily or in specific markets.

Impact to expect

The deal signals a continued move away from strict streaming exclusivity, allowing Disney to generate additional licensing revenue and expose major franchises to Netflix’s global audience while retaining its own streaming services.
