“TRYOUT: PLAN D” by Baseball United and TBS gives Japanese baseball prospects a chance to join a Dubai-based professional league. Airing from July 2025.

Tokyo: Baseball United and Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) have partnered to launch “TRYOUT: PLAN D,” a new reality competition that aims to discover top Japanese baseball prospects and offer them professional contracts with Baseball United’s Dubai-based team, the Mid East Falcons.

Scouting Japan’s Best:
Baseball United, the first professional league dedicated to the Middle East and South Asia, is expanding its reach into Japan through a collaboration with TBS. The competition series will scout hundreds of players across Japan, selecting one pitcher and one batter to join the Mid East Falcons for the league’s inaugural season beginning November 14, 2025, in Dubai.

A Powerful Narrative Platform:
TRYOUT will be produced in partnership with TBS’s long-standing sports documentary programme バース・デイ (Birthday), known for its emotional storytelling and deep athlete profiles. The series will combine gripping reality competition with inspiring personal journeys, culminating in the selection of two winners who will officially debut on November 19 in a game against the Karachi Monarchs.

A Multi-Stage Challenge:
The TRYOUT competition kicks off in July, taking players through rigorous tests of skill, fitness, mental strength, and passion for baseball. Filming and selection will continue through November, with the final decision broadcast just ahead of the Falcons’ opening game.

Voices from the Game:
“Japan is one of the greatest baseball nations in the world,” said Baseball United CEO and Co-Founder Kash Shaikh. “TRYOUT is a celebration of culture and a life-changing opportunity for players who deserve a spotlight.”

TBS Producer Hidemitsu Takahashi added, “バース・デイ has always told powerful stories of perseverance. This partnership lets us take that mission global and honour Japanese players with real opportunity.”

Broadcast and Platforms:
TRYOUT will air weekly on TBS’s linear and digital channels from July, with bonus content featured across Baseball United’s global platforms.

This collaboration not only highlights elite Japanese talent but also opens the door for cultural exchange through sport—bridging two baseball-loving regions in a fresh, global format.
