British expat Grace Agnew became the 10th Dubai apartment winner after spending AED 657.75 on two pairs of shoes at Clarks.
DUBAI: A routine shopping trip at Dubai Festival City Mall has delivered an extraordinary result for British expat Grace Agnew, who became the latest Dubai apartment winner after buying two pairs of shoes at Clarks. Her AED 657.75 purchase secured an entry into the Win Your Home in Dubai campaign, ultimately earning her a studio apartment and her first property.
Agnew, who moved from the UK to Dubai with her husband nearly three years ago, previously lived in London and worked as a financial planner. She arrived in the emirate without knowing exactly what the move would bring, but the unexpected property win has now created a significant milestone in her life in Dubai.
Her winning entry began when her mother suggested shopping at Clarks during a visit to Dubai Festival City Mall. After Agnew bought the shoes, store staff encouraged her to participate in the campaign and helped her complete the entry process.
It was the first time she had entered such a raffle, making the result even more surprising.
“I never thought I would actually win. This has been such a life-changing experience, and it just shows that you never know your luck. I entered for the first time without expecting anything, and now I have won a property in Dubai,” Agnew said.
The new Dubai apartment winner has not yet decided how she will use the studio. She said possibilities include using it personally, turning it into a home office or providing accommodation for family members when they visit Dubai.
The Win Your Home in Dubai initiative is jointly led by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and Dubai Chambers. The campaign is offering shoppers the chance to win one of 12 new residential units from Binghatti Developers across Dubai.
The final campaign draws are scheduled for August 30, 2026, at Dubai Festival City Mall. Organisers said the event will reveal the 11th and final studio apartment recipient before the grand draw for a two-bedroom apartment.
Shoppers still have time to participate. Eligible purchases and receipt uploads will be accepted until 12pm on August 30. Residents and visitors aged 18 and above can enter after spending AED 500 at participating brands across more than 3,500 retail outlets in Dubai. Entrants must scan the campaign QR code and upload their qualifying receipt.
For Agnew, becoming a Dubai apartment winner transformed an everyday purchase into an unexpected step onto Dubai’s property ladder.
Impact to expect
The campaign finale could drive additional shopper interest across participating Dubai retailers as residents and visitors make qualifying purchases before the August 30 deadline.
