A Reddit user has gone viral for claiming that ChatGPT medical advice fixed a jaw issue he struggled with for five years—in just 60 seconds.

The post said doctors couldn’t figure out why his jaw clicked every time he opened his mouth. He even saw specialists, got two MRIs (one with contrast dye), and had referrals to oral surgeons. But nothing helped.

Frustrated, he turned to ChatGPT. “It told me the disc in my jaw was probably slightly displaced but still movable,” he wrote. The AI suggested a slow-mouth-opening technique while keeping the tongue on the roof of the mouth. “I tried it—and it fixed my jaw instantly.”

Others online said they tried the method and saw similar results. “You just fixed me. No joke,” one commenter replied. Another said, “I learned more about my sleep issues in 15 minutes with GPT than years of doctors and research.”

A third user shared, “Claude told me what tests to get done based on my symptoms. Two out of three came back positive. Now I’m finally on the right medication. AI is miles ahead of human diagnosis.”

While many in the medical world remain cautious about unverified ChatGPT medical advice, this post has sparked conversation about AI’s potential in revolutionising healthcare.

Of course, it’s still important to consult professionals for serious issues. But stories like these show just how far artificial intelligence has come—and why people are turning to it more often for quick help.
