Sheikh Hamdan directs launch of first AI Urban Design Platform in Dubai

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council, directed the launch of the Dubai Urban Design Platform, incorporating Artificial Intelligence, in just one month. This groundbreaking move aims to position Dubai among the pioneering cities globally, employing AI to craft its urban layout, fostering a collaborative vision with the community.

During The AI Retreat 2024, Sheikh Hamdan, alongside Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, underscored Dubai’s evolution into a global benchmark under the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Emphasizing sustainable development and innovative solutions, the initiative prioritizes enhancing community well-being.

The platform, championed by Sheikh Hamdan, signifies Dubai’s enduring commitment to future-oriented solutions, fostering collaboration between government and society. Key figures including Mattar Al Tayer and Dawood Al Hajri attended, highlighting the cross-sectoral collaboration driving this initiative. Developed in partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation and Dubai Municipality, the platform aims to amplify community engagement, converting ideas into actionable urban designs, optimizing investments through AI integration, and fostering innovation within the community.

AI transforms education, creating fresh opportunities for students and researchers

Its strategic focus on leveraging advanced technologies for efficient city planning and conducting inclusive design events sets a precedent for urban development. The platform, steered by the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning in Dubai with support from Toretei, promises a dynamic approach to city planning, ensuring Dubai remains at the forefront of urban innovation.

Through this initiative, Dubai showcases its commitment to inclusive, forward-thinking urban development, setting a precedent for cities worldwide.
