STOCKHOLM: World Water Week 2024 will focus on the theme “Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future.” This theme highlights the importance of global collaboration in addressing water-related challenges and emphasises how water can be a catalyst for peace and sustainability.

The event, organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), will bring together experts, ministers, journalists, and young leaders to discuss how water cooperation can enhance human security, food security, ecosystem security, and energy security. The Opening Ceremony will set the stage for these discussions, exploring how water can foster understanding, cooperation, and innovative solutions in an interconnected world.

World Water Week 2024 aims to provide an inclusive platform for those committed to using water to drive positive change and address global challenges. The event will feature nine seminars focusing on topics such as water diplomacy, the impact of water on armed conflict, the management of shared water resources, and technical solutions for secure water supplies. These sessions will delve into the role of water in building peace, ensuring food security, protecting ecosystems, and fostering cooperation.
