DOHA: Arab World Cup viewership reached unprecedented levels during the FIFA World Cup 2026™, with more than 2.1 billion cumulative viewers tuning in to matches featuring Arab nations, according to figures released by beIN SPORTS and independently measured by Ipsos.
The expanded 48-team tournament marked a historic milestone for Arab football, with a record eight Arab nations qualifying for the finals. Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia represented the region, producing several landmark achievements that resonated with fans across the Middle East and North Africa.
Egypt enjoyed its most successful FIFA World Cup™ campaign, reaching the Round of 16 for the first time in the nation’s history. After recording a maiden World Cup victory against New Zealand and defeating Australia in the knockout stage, the Pharaohs faced defending champions Argentina in a dramatic last-16 encounter. Although Egypt narrowly lost 3-2 after leading by two goals, the match attracted an audience of 192.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched fixture involving an Arab team during the tournament.
