The Arab League has accused Israel of undermining ceasefire efforts after renewed attacks in Gaza and military operations in the West Bank.
CAIRO: Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy has strongly condemned Israel’s latest military attacks on the Gaza Strip, saying the renewed violence threatens ongoing efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire.
In a statement on Monday, Fahmy said the intensified bombardment in Gaza, which reportedly left dozens of Palestinians dead and injured, alongside military operations in the occupied West Bank, has raised serious concerns about the future of ceasefire negotiations.

He said large-scale operations, including home demolitions and detention raids in the West Bank, appear to undermine the proposed 15-point roadmap for the second phase of the ceasefire.
Fahmy called for Israel to be held accountable for what he described as violations against the Palestinian people and urged the international community to support ongoing mediation efforts aimed at ending the conflict.

He also warned against any actions that could prolong the fighting or further destabilise the region, stressing the importance of advancing diplomatic efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire and protect civilians.
The latest developments come as mediators continue working to revive negotiations and reduce tensions following months of conflict in Gaza.
