UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed announced a celebration week starting January 29 to honour deep-rooted UAE–Kuwait relations.
ABU DHABI: The President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has called on Emirati citizens and institutions to mark a week-long celebration of UAE–Kuwait ties, beginning January 29, 2026. The announcement reflects the deep historical bond shared by the two Gulf nations and celebrates decades of diplomatic, cultural and social solidarity.
The UAE President described the connection between the two nations as one founded on “brotherhood, affection and kinship.” He praised Kuwait’s unwavering support both before and after the formation of the UAE, highlighting its key role in the country’s early development.
“Kuwait has been a longstanding supporter and partner of the UAE since before the Union,” Sheikh Mohamed said. “For one week from January 29, we encourage our community to honour this enduring relationship and celebrate Kuwait, its leadership and its people.”
The week-long observance is expected to include community events, cultural showcases, institutional recognitions and tributes across media platforms, all designed to reflect the strength of UAE–Kuwait friendship. The initiative is a continuation of the UAE’s tradition of recognising its regional allies and reinforcing shared Gulf values.
Sheikh Mohamed concluded his remarks by extending prayers for Kuwait’s continued progress, stating, “May God protect Kuwait and bless its continued progress.”
The announcement underscores the enduring unity among GCC nations and aims to foster deeper public appreciation for the contributions of Kuwait to the UAE’s national story.
