DUBAI: The UAE has launched its first AI open competition for school students, STOGOCOMP, aiming to inspire innovation in artificial intelligence and robotics. Open to students aged 9 to 19, this groundbreaking contest encourages young minds to develop tech-driven solutions to improve student well-being in schools.

Organised by the Emirates Safer Internet Society (eSafe) in collaboration with the Robotics and Automation Society, the event is hosted by the University of Dubai with technical support from Tachyon 360. The initiative, generously funded by Disney Company, provides a STEAM-focused platform for students to enhance their skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Dr Abdulla Mohamed Al Mehyas, Chairman of eSafe, highlighted the competition’s importance in advancing the UAE’s AI vision. “We are proud to organise this pioneering event with our esteemed partners. STOGOCOMP will pave the way for students to make meaningful contributions to the UAE’s AI ambitions,” he stated.

Dr Eesa Mohammed Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, emphasised the significance of the initiative, saying, “This competition aligns with our mission to foster innovation and academic excellence. It will equip students with vital skills to excel in the digital world.”

Dr Saeed Al Dhaheri, President of the Robotics and Automation Society, praised STOGOCOMP as a powerful platform for young innovators. “It allows students to contribute groundbreaking ideas that can create a real impact in educational institutions,” he noted.
