Hatta inspires entrepreneurs towards economic growth

Dubai: Hatta, known for its captivating landscapes and rich heritage, is undergoing a transformative economic journey driven by a comprehensive development plan. The Dubai Government’s commitment to nurturing youth potential and fostering sustainable development and entrepreneurship is shaping Hatta’s changing economic landscape. The Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Dubai SME) is playing a crucial role in catalyzing Hatta’s entrepreneurial surge with its ambitious plan to support startups in the region in 2023.

Dubai SME, a part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, is actively organizing training courses and specialized programs to guide young entrepreneurs in Hatta, encouraging them to start or expand their businesses. The programs cover various sectors, including commercial, agricultural, food and beverages, tourism, and technology. The issuance of 45 fee-exempt commercial licenses for startups in Hatta has further reduced entry barriers and promoted economic innovation.

Several success stories have emerged from diverse sectors in Hatta, including food, farms, services, tourism, and leisure establishments, all supported by Dubai SME. These ventures, such as an apiary project and Hatta Kayak, contribute to local economic and community development.

Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Dubai SME, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurial talent in Hatta and facilitating their success. The Hatta Festival organized by Brand Dubai showcased the growing presence of local businesses, with more than half originating from Hatta. Dubai SME aims to nurture Hatta’s entrepreneurial spirit through initiatives like the Tasheel facility and the Hatta Master Development Plan.

The Hatta Traders Council, formed in 2022, focuses on unlocking new economic opportunities and supporting young entrepreneurs under the Hatta Master Development Plan. Aspiring entrepreneurs in Hatta now have a clear roadmap and comprehensive government support to realize their dreams across various vital sectors. This concerted effort aims to boost entrepreneurship, contribute positively to economic, tourism, and commercial activities, and position Hatta as a thriving hub for innovative ventures.
