Sharjah: The Sharjah Petroleum Council (SPC), part of the Government of Sharjah, made an announcement about finding new gas reserves in the Al Hadiba field. This field is located north of the Al Sajaa Industrial Area in Sharjah. The discovery shows promising amounts of gas that could be economically beneficial.

The Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) conducted drilling operations over several months to find this new field. The next step involves testing the well to confirm the exact quantities and the potential gas reserves available. This confirmation is crucial for planning the development of the field.

Al Hadiba joins four other onshore fields in Sharjah: Al-Saja’a, Kahif, Mahani, and Muayed (which has been transformed into a gas storage field). Each of these fields contributes to the energy resources of Sharjah.

The discovery of new reserves in Al Hadiba signifies potential growth and sustainability in Sharjah’s energy sector. It opens up opportunities for further exploration and development, which could lead to increased energy production and economic benefits for the region.

The Government of Sharjah and its associated entities like the SPC and SNOC play vital roles in ensuring the responsible exploration and utilization of natural resources. Their efforts contribute to the overall development and prosperity of Sharjah and its people.

As the testing phase proceeds, more details about the exact size and characteristics of the discovered reserves will emerge. This information will guide future decisions regarding investment, infrastructure development, and energy planning in Sharjah.
