Iran President apology was issued by Masoud Pezeshkian to neighbouring countries for attacks during the escalating Iran, Israel and US conflict.
TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a public apology to neighbouring countries after missile strikes linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States heightened regional tensions.
Speaking in a televised address broadcast on Iranian state television on Saturday, Pezeshkian acknowledged that several neighbouring states had been affected during the conflict. He said Tehran regretted the impact of the attacks and sought to reassure nearby nations that Iran did not intend to widen the conflict across the region.
“I apologise to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran,” the Iranian leader said during the address.
The Iranian President’s apology came as fears grew across the Middle East that the confrontation could spill beyond the immediate battle zones. Several countries in the region have urged restraint while airlines, energy markets, and diplomatic channels remain on high alert.
Pezeshkian also revealed that Iran’s interim leadership council had reached a decision to avoid further attacks on neighbouring territories unless those countries were directly used as launch points for attacks against Iran.
“The interim leadership council agreed yesterday that no more attacks will be made on neighbouring countries and no missiles will be fired unless an attack on Iran originates from those countries,” he said.
The statement appears aimed at calming tensions with neighbouring Gulf states and other regional governments that have called for de-escalation.
Regional leaders and global powers continue to monitor developments closely as diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions intensify.
