Abu Dhabi: AD Ports Group and Burjeel Holdings have launched DOCKTOUR, a joint venture set to transform healthcare logistics across Africa. Announced during Make it in the Emirates, DOCKTOUR integrates supply chain capabilities, modular infrastructure, and emergency response to address Africa’s growing medical needs.

Unveiled in the presence of UAE Minister of Industry H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the platform combines AD Ports’ logistics strength with Burjeel’s clinical expertise. It aims to deploy container-based clinics, field hospitals, and permanent medical infrastructure, while supporting emergency care and community health initiatives.

Backed by Operonix, Burjeel’s healthcare operations arm, and AD Ports’ vast African presence—including 34 terminals and 247 vessels—DOCKTOUR will offer rapid mobilisation, streamlined medical supply chains, and field-ready facilities across underserved regions.

“DOCKTOUR is about delivering impact where it’s needed most,” said Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Group CEO of AD Ports Group. “This scalable platform reflects our commitment to community-focused healthcare systems in Africa.”

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder of Burjeel Holdings, added: “DOCKTOUR is a full-spectrum platform blending advanced clinical systems with logistics efficiency. Our aim is to bring not just care, but stability and readiness to communities that need it most.”

Beyond logistics, DOCKTOUR will explore medical tourism, establish medical offices, and partner with governments and NGOs to enable rapid response during crises. Initiatives will include maternal care, immunisation drives, mobile health education, and data-led inventory systems.

As Sub-Saharan Africa’s economy grows, DOCKTOUR positions the UAE as a key enabler of sustainable, equitable healthcare solutions—advancing both regional development and the UAE’s humanitarian mission.
