DUBAI: Dubai Safari Park has wrapped up its sixth season, calling it its most successful yet. The park officially closed for its annual summer break on 1 June after welcoming record-breaking numbers and launching exciting new attractions and conservation efforts.

Visitor numbers reached an all-time high with a 16% year-on-year increase. The park conducted over 52,700 safari tours, saw sold-out weekends, and welcomed large crowds during holidays like Eid Al Etihad, when more than 43,000 guests visited over just four days.

This season introduced the region’s first Night Safari, which drew 17,000 visitors in a single month, and the popular live show ‘Echoes of the Wild’, which attracted over 80,000 attendees. Other favourites like Wild Fiesta and Iftar in the Wild also returned with strong engagement.

One of the most heartwarming moments came from the Baby Rhino Naming Campaign, which invited the public to name a new rhino calf. Over 13,000 people participated, choosing the name ‘Onyx’ and showing strong community support for conservation.

Education played a key role this season. The park welcomed nearly 45,000 students and hosted themed awareness days, conservation activities, and even a student competition where 560 children shared ideas to protect wildlife.

Dubai Safari Park also made progress in animal care, recording 162 births, including 17 critically endangered species such as moon bears and white rhinos. The park’s science team published four research papers, covering areas like disease prevention and big cat wellness, underlining its global conservation role.

Director Muna Alhajeri said the season was a major step forward in impact, learning, and public involvement. The park will reopen on 14 October with new experiences, staying true to its mission of protecting wildlife and inspiring visitors.
