Etihad Airways marks its first anniversary at Terminal A, Zayed International Airport, celebrating a year of remarkable growth and innovation. Since transitioning in November 2023, the airline has expanded its weekly flights from 1,336 to 1,732, connecting Abu Dhabi to over 80 global destinations.

Terminal A, a world-class facility capable of handling up to 45 million passengers annually, has contributed to Zayed International Airport being recognised as the Middle East’s fastest-growing airport for international flight seat capacity.

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, stated: “Terminal A has transformed the travel experience, supporting Etihad’s growth and enhancing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global aviation hub. This facility elevates service standards, providing greater comfort and convenience for our guests.”

Etihad’s premium offering includes its flagship First and Business class lounges, featuring amenities such as the Be Relax Spa, complimentary for First Class passengers, and the Liwan Global Dining restaurant with live cooking stations. The lounges also boast the Constellation Bar, adorned with a 25-metre Abu Dhabi skyline sculpture, and offer direct boarding access, family areas, and relaxation rooms.

The terminal’s innovative technology enhances guest convenience, with biometric self-service kiosks enabling bag drops in just 30 seconds. Biometric checkpoints streamline check-in, immigration, and boarding, ensuring a smooth travel experience.

A key highlight is the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility, relocated to Terminal A, making Abu Dhabi the only Middle Eastern and Asian city offering US preclearance, allowing seamless arrivals in the United States.

As Etihad expands its fleet and network in 2024 and beyond, Terminal A serves as the foundation for introducing new global destinations and supporting the airline’s ambitious growth plans.
