DUBAI: Calligrapher Abdul Kareem, better known as Kareemgraphy, has inked his gratitude the best way he knows how – through bold strokes of Arabic calligraphy. After being granted the UAE’s prestigious Golden Visa, the Dubai-based creative shared a shimmering tribute to the city in his signature style.
“Thank you Dubai,” the artwork reads, using Arabic calligraphy that fuses classical form with a street-art twist. It’s more than just beautiful – it’s deeply personal. The piece reflects his journey as a designer and calligrapher whose work has turned walls, canvases, and even cars into storytelling surfaces.
Sharing the artwork on Instagram, Kareemgraphy wrote, “Grateful to the Government of UAE for awarding me the Dubai Golden Visa in recognition of my work as a calligrapher. Honored and inspired! Thank you Dubai”.
Known for merging traditional Arabic script with graffiti-inspired elements, Kareemgraphy’s art pushes creative boundaries while keeping cultural roots intact. His pieces often carry powerful messages, capturing identity, heritage, and emotion in swirling forms and vibrant colours.
The Golden Visa – introduced by the UAE to honour talents across art, science, business and more – is a testament to how Dubai values creativity. And Kareemgraphy’s recognition places calligraffiti firmly on the map as not just an art form, but a movement that bridges the past with the future.
In a city that thrives on innovation and artistry, this recognition proves once again: Dubai sees the future – and it’s handwritten.
