DUBAI: The final day of Dubai AI Week wrapped up with a spotlight on innovation, as the winners of the “Dubai AI Week Hackathon: Agentic AI” were announced at Area 2071 in Emirates Towers.

The hackathon, a major highlight of the week, challenged participants to develop autonomous AI agents — systems designed to work independently without human input — that could address real-life challenges and improve everyday life across the emirate.

Mentor and judge Maryam Al Amri, CEO of Oman-based Matterz Group, guided teams throughout the competition, urging them to align their AI ideas with human needs and social value. “True innovation responds to real human needs,” she said in a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM). “It’s not just about what’s possible — it’s about what’s meaningful.”

The projects explored AI solutions in high-impact sectors including real estate, travel, and logistics — key industries where the UAE is aiming to drive future-forward transformation. Some of the standout ideas are already gaining interest from Dubai-based companies keen to turn these concepts into working solutions.

Al Amri noted that entries ranged from nearly market-ready tech to early-stage but promising innovations, showing the depth of talent and creativity at play. With public and private sector support, Dubai AI Week offers a powerful platform for taking these ideas beyond the prototype stage.

The hackathon’s success underscores Dubai’s ambition to lead in AI, with events like these acting as launchpads for the next wave of smart, autonomous solutions designed to serve communities and support national priorities.
