The delay in seeking medical treatment has been the reason for many women reaching hospitals at the final stage of cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

The novel health program launched at Aster Hospital, Sharjah, aims to create awareness about the importance of women’s health through discourse and continuous community engagement.

As part of the initiative, Aster Hospital, Sharjah, has started about twelve women-centric speciality clinics to attend to and treat common health conditions that affect women such as PCOS, PCOD, adolescent clinics to support young girls, fertility clinics for women of reproductive age, along with menopause clinic and others.

In an attempt to create awareness about various conditions affecting women’s health, the hospital will also start a weekly breakfast meeting with doctors. This program would enable women members to interact with expert doctors on selected topics.

Inaugurating the women’s day event held under the theme of ‘elevate her health and wellness’, actress Priyamani commended the efforts of Aster Hospitals for working for the welfare of women. “Women are now taking the centre stage in society. They are nowadays managing both their personal and professional life equally well. To achieve bigger things in life, health is inevitable, and women should prioritize their health,” she said.

Speaking at the event, Gaurav Khurana, COO of Aster Hospital, Sharjah, said as a responsible care provider, we believe the health of women is pivotal in building a healthier society. “Women have always been at the centre of our care. With the new initiative, we aim to extend our caring arms to more women by empowering and enlightening them. We have also launched special privilege cards for those who are not protected by medical insurance. We aim to ensure all the residents of Sharjah and Nothern Emirates receive quality healthcare by making care accessible for all. The privilege card will allow people without insurance to avail of all our services at a discounted rate,” he added.
