Metro services will restart at weather-affected stations by May 28: RTA
Thu 09 May 2024Dubai: Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that Dubai Metro services will return to normal at stations affected by the recent extreme weather condition called the “Hadeer” Storm, starting May 28th. This includes On Passive, Equity, Mashreq, and Energy Metro stations. Before reopening, thorough maintenance and safety tests will be conducted to ensure the stations meet the highest standards of operation and efficiency.
RTA is determined to swiftly restore Dubai Metro services to their usual state, prioritizing passenger safety and asset security. They aim to provide seamless transport services in line with international best practices. RTA is working closely with Keolis and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the companies responsible for operating and maintaining the Dubai Metro, to achieve this.

Until the affected stations resume normal operations, RTA will continue deploying direct bus services with over 150 buses. These buses will operate on three routes during metro operation hours. They will cater to passengers traveling between the Business Bay Metro Station and On Passive, Mall of the Emirates, Mashreq, Equity, Dubai Internet City, and Al Khail Metro Stations. This temporary measure ensures that commuters can still travel conveniently while the affected metro stations undergo necessary maintenance and safety checks.
