Emirates SkyCargo India expansion adds new freighters to boost cargo capacity and strengthen trade links across key routes.
DUBAI: Emirates SkyCargo India expansion is picking up pace as the airline deploys additional freighters to meet rising demand across key trade routes.
The cargo division of Emirates is adding two more weekly freighter services, one to Mumbai and one to Ahmedabad, increasing its overall capacity and connectivity. The move comes as trade between the UAE and India continues to grow rapidly.
The Emirates SkyCargo India expansion will see the Mumbai freighter connect Dubai, Singapore and India, while the Ahmedabad service will operate as a direct dedicated route. Both services are set to launch in March 2026.
These additions are expected to carry high-demand goods such as pharmaceuticals, fresh produce, perishables and electronic devices. With this expansion, Emirates SkyCargo will significantly boost its weekly cargo uplift, which already averages around 3,000 tonnes.
The Emirates SkyCargo India expansion also includes a new weekly freighter to Dhaka starting April 2026, further strengthening the airline’s footprint in South Asia.
Industry demand is driving this growth.

India remains a key hub for manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and e-commerce, with increasing need for reliable logistics. Emirates SkyCargo is also supporting this demand through an extensive trucking network, connecting smaller cities like Coimbatore and Goa to global markets.
The Emirates SkyCargo India expansion aligns with the growing success of the UAE-India trade partnership, where exports and cargo movement continue to rise.
With more capacity, wider reach and stronger connectivity, Emirates SkyCargo is positioning itself at the centre of evolving global supply chains.
