Crown Prince attends India-UAE Forum in Mumbai; agreements, initiatives launched
Wed 11 Sep 2024MUMBAI: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, attended the India-UAE Business Forum in Mumbai. The event, organised by the UAE Ministry of Economy and UAE Embassy in India, focused on sectors like healthcare, renewable energy, AI, and agricultural technology.

During the forum, Sheikh Khaled emphasized the importance of the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in boosting economic ties and promoting cross-border trade. Several agreements were signed, including partnerships between Lulu Group and India’s Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Authority to import Indian organic produce to the UAE, and between UAE-based Global Jet Technic and Indian airlines for aircraft maintenance services.
G42 showcased its Hindi large language model, NANDA, aimed at advancing India’s AI ecosystem. Additionally, Rorix Holdings and Adani Ports agreed to integrate advanced technologies into India’s infrastructure.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry also partnered with the Confederation of Indian Industry to enhance private sector investment opportunities in both countries. The UAE-India CEPA Council signed agreements with Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones Authority and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce to extend CEPA benefits to businesses in both nations.

The forum was part of Sheikh Khaled’s official visit to India, accompanied by a delegation led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade. Dr. Zeyoudi highlighted the rise in bilateral trade, which reached $28.2 billion in the first half of 2024, and emphasized the role of CEPA in driving industrial growth and economic collaboration between the UAE and India.
